New Toad for our Berk

We just had a baseplate and tow wiring installed in our new Ford Flex. I purchased a SMI Delta Force brake unit - super easy setup and it did seem to work well as there was no 'push' when stopping. Using a Blue Ox Aventa we towed the car home about 30 miles on local roads and highways, flat and hilly terrain. The coach performed excellent with the only thing I noticed was it stayed in 4th and 5th gear longer (to be expected with a 4800lb car). The car tracked perfectly and was super easy to prep for towing. There is a remote display unit for the Delta Force, with antenna, that is supposed to show brake activation and force. It would not/could not establish a link to the brake unit so only knew it was working by feel. Will relocate antenna, etc. to get it working. So far very pleased with the whole setup.

Just out of curiosity do you have a 40 or 60. I tow a Ford Flex with my 390BH -60 and almost never drop into 4th gear. On the flats almost always in 6th gear

Lefaivre: I have the 60 but there were some decent hills to climb. It did go to 6th on the flats, just noticed that it took a little longer getting there. This was my first time towing a car with the coach so I was hyper attentive to everything (DW was a nervous wreck). All worked out well though and loving the Flex!
Cajun: thanks for the kind words. It will be nice having a car for this year's snowbird trip!

I also have 360HP and tow a F-150 and at most highway speeds I am in 6th gear.
