North bound and down......
6 months in AZ and it's time to get outta Dodge..... Leave in the AM for Pagosa Springs, CO for a couple of weeks or maybe even a month.
Then on over into canyon country of south-central Utah to include Moab, Capitol Reef NP, Zion NP, Bryce NP and the Escalante Grand Staircase...
After that who knows, but probably up thru Las Vegas, then over into Death Valley and finally Yosemite, Kings Canyon and Sequoia NP's before heading back to the winter sunshine of AZ, sometime around Thanksgiving.
Boowho??

Boo, even though I don't want to be 15 years older than I am, I am totally envious of your retirement lifestyle.

Cajun, it'll come soon enough. At least you already know the joys of MH'ing. When I first retired I moved into a sticks-and-bricks high on a mountain to in Colorado. MAJOR mistake.
Wound up (among other bad things) getting shot at by a psychotic, drunken neighbor, so sold the house at a $75K loss, just to get outta there.
The downside of what I do, is that you can easily lose a friend or two every year. It's just a product of most of us are just plain OLD. I'm a mere 71, but already this year a 73 year acquaintance died. Still there are some of us into their mid-80s' and still doing it.
One lady in the park in Benson, AZ is 92 and dances like a teenager. Hell, she'd dance on a table is someone gave here the idea!!!

True story..... I left more for HIS safety than my own. He was spoiling for a fight, and at my stage of life, I would have eventually given him one....
One of us would been dead and the other in jail for life. So, since the we sorta wanted out anyhow (for other reasons), we figured leaving was the best thing to do.
BTW, one of the more "interesting" events of my life..... It will change your whole outlook.

Would love to, but lousy timing...... I'm 15 miles west of ALBQ as I type this, stopped at the Route 66 Casino for the night. By Oct I'll probably be somewhere in California.

Well, here's a downside, which of course could happen to anybody.... BUT....
Arrived at a park where I planned to stay about 4 hours ago. It's 10 miles out of Pagosa Springs on US 84 (south). Have to cross a dilapidated old bridge that is posted at 12 tons MAX.
I'm 15 tons..... So I stop for some head scratching, and out runs the owner telling me that EVERYONE crosses that bridge with HUGE Class A's and there's never been a problem. I decided that was a load of crap, backed out and left. I mean this was a Colorado DOT OFFICIAL sign.
So, I had to wander around the area for over two hours, before finally finding a spot for the night that I could actually afford. Still $55 per night and the season hasn't even started yet!!!
But, c'mon TWO hours?? I was exhausted!! So it's not always fun and games.....
Boowho??

Good call. You would bake all the forums if you crashed through the bridge. On a brighter note I will bet that it's not 41degrees and raining there. I'm getting real tired of this weather. We should have stayed in KY.

Phil, you maybe safer where you at. I saw that LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB/AP) -- Officials now say at least 12 tornadoes hit Kentucky as storms whipped through the Midwest and South, killing 13 people in other states. Craig

Phil, copied the wrong piece. It should of said: Tens of thousands of customers were without power in Alabama, Mississippi, and Kentucky, which did not report tornadoes but was slammed with severe storms. Craig

Ahem....... It was 18 this AM when I got up. But that's Colorado for ya.... Most changeable weather on the face of the earth. 72 and beautiful this afternoon. Only down around 40 tonight.
I've moved over to Durango, CO today and have an offer to work-camp in this park for the rest of the summer. Trying to decide, but it's worth a free spot at about $850 per month and only 3 days per week.
Might just go for it and finish my trip after September. I'm right across the highway from the train track to Silverton. I get quite a kick at seeing those old steam puffers going by 6 times per day, and smelling the smoke too!
