You only need it if you have the aluminum wheel covers.

Oh we do have the wall switch which turns on the light and will turn on the fan. But if the last person closed the vent on the fan, you have to reach up and turn the knob to open it before the fan will come on....that's the part where I get called in!!
I wonder if one of those "reachers" will do the trick for her?

I believe they make an extension to that knob for higher ceilings like in fifth wheels that may work for you.

We have a similar situation, 5' tall DW.....entirely too tall vent knob, solution: Lowes-2' piece of 1 1/2" PVC...notches cut in the end to fit the handle.......she can reach it just fine now
No more- "Honey, could you come and open/close the vent in the bathroom"
she tucks it away in the linen closet

Remote for Ceiling Fans
My wife is what I like to call height challenged. Last winter I found an open box upgrade for the fan in the shower area. It provides remote, thermostat, variable speed, Rain sensor to auto shut, and fan reverse switch. The kit is in the first three pictures. Normally price is about $250 but I got got about $130. I also added the pop lock screens to the other fans that make cleaning easier and a reverse switch to the fan in the main cabin.

As I recall, I paid $99 for the kit at an RV show. That was when Fantastic Fan was owned by Fantastic Fan. I believe now they are owned by Atwood.
Besides the rain sensor, it has almost infinite variable speed and adjust itself according to the temperature you set. The remote also has a manual mode.

I am also vertically challenged. Bugged my husband to install VentStiks, they all stripped out within a month and we need to reinstall the original turners. I may have to try CMSRetired's pvc solution. Until then, I have small step stools stashed in both bathroom and kitchen.

I don't think a teacher will be strong enough. I am 5'1" and use long BBQ tongs. Works well 4 me.

The awning remote looks like a key fob and comes on one of the two sets of keys that you would have received at delivery. If you didn't get it you'll have to go back to the salesman I'm afraid to ask about it. Good luck!

Thanks for the reply.
They're claiming it doesn't come with one. I don't trust them, but I really don't care that much about it.

CW should have given you a contact name and phone number at Forest River who is responsible for handling all service/warranty claims and problems. Forest River will straighten this out for you.
