There is the RV Museum a short drive away. Lots of old RV's on display. Notre Dame University is about 40 minutes away. Beautiful campus. Not sure if the
Shipshewana flea market is open this time of year but lots of booths. I'm sure that I am forgetting a lot of things to see but this is a start.

Off to the Factory

I don't know if the Shipshewana flea market is still open on Tues & Wed probably not. Down town Shipshewana had lots of small shops along the street. Cool.

Essenhaus restaurant in middlebury. For sure worth a meal. Rise & Roll Bakery. HWY 20 East Of Middlebury Go to visitors center in Shipshewana. Do an Amish tour. There is a Hutson Car museum behind visitors center in Shipshewana.

Factory probably has a board in lobby with travel brochures as does everyone around town.

I would for sure tow my car !!

Hi do you mind me asking what kind of major defects you are having with your 38A? That is the same model we have.
While in Elkhart the RV Museum is really nice and ANY of the Amish food is worth sampling!

The full wall slide jams when you bring it in and slacks the cable front bottom of slide, then you hear a load snap, slide pops up taking up slack and then comes in.Afraid that the cable might jump off roller wheels or pull brackets off the wall. Then all 3 cameras went bad at same time, could be head unit and cannot find way to test. The kitchen slide is loose when brought all the way in and rattles when driving down the road. Then everything else is minor........flooring tile coming up(no glue) found that lower compartments leak in rain(no sealant looking forward in compartment where frame rails pass thru compartments)so when you are traveling in rain it just travels up the frame rails .

Maybe a dumb question, but if I ever have to make this trip for things the dealer just can't get fixed, where do you stay? We travel with our dog; do you stay in the RV? Just curious. Safe travels!

There is also the Studebaker museum in South Bend which is really nice. Lots to take in there. Also there is the NYC RR museum in Elkhart. Later RJD

I have had a couple of two day repairs on our rig. One time we didn't have access to the rig and stayed at a Red Roof. We knew about this ahead of time so no big deal. The other time they worked on it all day and pulled it out so we could sleep in it. You will find the folks at the factory very accommodating.

If you check at the Elkart welcome center there is a nice day long driving tour through Amish country that is interesting.
