Phil, I agree. Just the fact that they all don't work tells me that there is a common source defeating their action.

That being said, I don't know anything about the relays, so can't be much help there. But Silver seems to have a good grasp on that aspect.

So could be as simple as an electrical connection pulled off a terminal that feeds the location of the slide switches.

Joe that's what I'm thinking. Something simple.

Just throwing out ideas. Remove console where all the switches are and check for a broken / pulled wire connection. Maybe while open jump a wire ( feed ) from some other feed of same voltage and try operation of slides.

I do not think the relay is bad but perhaps the circuits feeding the relay. Ether the control coil (controlled by the key on) or +12V on the normally closed side is gone (normally closed as a designer would not require energy on relay to operate the slides while coach is sitting only to disable when coach is running). Kenny feels sure that this is the control relay for the slides so this makes sense. That is how I would have designed it in my day. Once measured we would know where to trace back. Additionally if the +12v is missing on the normally closed side of the relay because a wire fell off or a hidden fuse is blown we could provide it from another source. That was why I suggested the paperclip idea and +12V source through a 20 amp fuse.

Without data it is only a guess.

Someone with a working coach measure the middle tap of one of the slide control switches. I am guessing it is +12v and when the switch is pushed up or down the +12 signals the slide to go. I am also guessing on Kenny's panel he has no voltage. As you say Kenny could remove the center tap, Jumper the pin to a +12V source and slide would work. Get the +12V from a light fixture below the slide control. Need to verify he needs +12 first. Any game to check for him? I would but cannot get to my coach.

147 post and no fix yet. This has to be a record.

I can't wait to find out what it is......I'm betting something very simple.

Oh Crap .... Slides don't work

I know there is an interlock solenoid that if the key is not off the slides by safety can not operate. My previous MH would sometimes fail to let me operate the slides. I had to turn key on and off and the slides would work.

If you can locate this solenoid looks like a starter solenoid you can jumper across the power terminal with a jumper cable and slides will work.
I bet it is either located in the box below the drivers seat or in the back electrical compartments.

There is one like that in the compartment below the drivers seat. It has two 5 amp fuses in the top.

Silver,

Finally took the measurements.

The only pin that shows any voltage (12v) is 85 with the ignition turned to the on position.
All other read zero no matter what position the ignition is.

Hi Kenny,

Ok that is your problem. I think 87a should be +12V all the time. Ether the line to the relay has become disconnected or a hidden fuse is blown. If you put +12V on pin 30 of the relay socket you should be able to close your slides. Again I would jumper it through a fuse for protection. Use a jumper wire, connect to +12V, connect other end to fuse. Take second jumper wire connect to other end of fuse and other end of wire plug in to pin 30 of relay socket. I would use a 20 amp fuse, standard auto type. let me know what happens. I marked up the drawing with what you need to do.

With ignition on pin 85 turns on the relay which disconnects pin 87a causing slides to shut off. That is why it is present when ignition is on.

Hay Kenny,

Don't you read these in the evening? I will be off line for a week if all goes well. Let me know what happens.

I get on briefly on the weekends between the items in my honey-do list.
I will try after I get to the store to buy an inline fuse to use.
Thanks Silver and good luck with the surgery.

Thanks to Silver, I was able to put a jumper to the relay and get the slides to close.

Now I just have to find out why 12volts are not getting to the relay.

Thanks Silver!!! I hope your surgery went well.

Maybe that a wire tone tracer will now work. You can inject the tone at the relay where the 12 volts is supposed to be and trace it to its source.

Don't have one, but have seen telephone guys used them in my home. I hear that Harbor Freight has them.
