How long should the batteries keep their charge if you use the cutoff switches while storing? I have a 2010 390BH that I store without access to plug in. I turn off the cutoff switches when I store it, but need to visit it every week to ten days as the batteries will be low (as measures by the control panel inside next to the tv). So just about every week I will stop by and run the generator for about an hour and that charges the batteries back up.
I went this week to do the same, but when I ran the generator it did not charge the batteries. I noticed the inverter had the invert light on, but the AC in light never came on. Strange. I tried again the next day with the same result. I noticed that time that the generator fired up as usual, but after a minute or two, the generator sound dropped down to a lower tone almost like there was a bit of a strain on it or something. I also noticed that the overhead lights had a flicker to them and wouldn't stay on steady.
Haven't had a chance to take it somewhere where I can plug it in yet, but strange turn of events and I'm not sure if the problem lies with the batteries or generator or both. Hope to get the issue worked out as we are planning a big trip in the next few weeks.
