One more winterize question

I have read the threads and haven't come across an answer for this question. I have a 2014 390-60 with a residential whirlpool refrigerator. It has a water filter in the refrigerator. I ran 2 gallons of liquid out the front of the fridge and it kept coming out clear due to the water filter i would guess? I took the filter out and there was pink stuff in the filter. It won't work without filter in it. Can I assume that since pink was coming out of every other faucet that after 2 gallons even if it didn't turn pink I would be winterized? Did anyone else have this trouble?? Thanks for your advice. Chris

Chris,
You should have removed the filter. There should have been a blue cap that you install after you removed the filter. I would remove the filter, because it is probably shot now anyway, put the cap in and run the pump for a minute or so to make sure you get the pink stuff coming out of the water tap on the fridge.

thanks Tom- Now I know what that blue thing was I just threw in a drawer. I took the filter off and had pink coming out. Good to know the filter works on pink. Chris

This is a picture of the cap installed. Remove the filter and put the cap in in place of the filter inside the refrigerator.

Chris, I did the same thing because it didn't work without the filter. I assume I'm fine because I too saw pink in the filter area. It's amazing how well the filter cleaned out the antifreeze of the fridge.
