Our 1st camping trip

Well we got the new Berk out this weekend. All worked well. I like the how the heatpump works and the auto leveling system. The bedding looks really nice but it is noisy. We may look for a different cover. Ironically there was a Damon Astoria in the next campsite. I'm glad I got the Berk - the extra slide is a huge bonus and I think the Berk just looks better. I already need to wash it as it snowed a bit earlier this week.

One thing that somewhat worries me is when I pushed the button to tell me how much fresh water I have it said 1/3. The water pump was going and going. I turned the faucet on and it was spitting water and air out. I checked the filter (on the side of the coach) and there was no water in it. That tells me I was out of fresh water. Anyone else have this issue? Again, other than that it worked great!

Thanks by the way!

First - you want to visually check you fresh water tank and see if there is any water in it.

Second - has the tank gets below 1/3 - you may run dry. I have noticed this..

Congrats on your Berkshire and happy to hear that you had a successful first trip. I was convinced by my son to get the Berkshire over the Damon because of the extra slide and the room it provides. He pointed out that if we needed to stay inside, the extra space would come in handy. He was right!!.

On the water issue, I had the same problem with the water running out when the tank was a quarter full still. For some reason the put the water pickup 1/4 they way up the side of the tank. I made a mod and added a bent copper tube so I could use that last 25 gallons.

Look at the line from the fresh water tank to the pump. you will see it connects about 1/3 of the way up the side of the tank (on the passenger side water pump access compartment)
