Thanks! I bought the Type-S for a couple reasons. The bigger motor and I love the quad exhaust! It's the wife's car and "I bought it for her - of course" ;-) However, with that being said I still like driving my 2000 BMW 740 better than the S. You just can't beat a V-8. :-)

We are headed up to your area around Denver or the Pueblo/Colorado Springs area and wondered if you have any reccomendations for a good camp ground to spend a month or so in. We will be there in May, so do not want to get very high into the Rockies, want to be warm!

My favorite spot for that long would be Mueller State Park just west of Colorado Springs, elevation is a little high but the sites have electric. I think you would have a hard time finding a spot with a month open though. Same would apply to Cheyenne Mountain State Park in CO springs.

In Denver you might be able to get into Chatfield State park for that long. I live very close to there, and it is nice with easy mountain access but no tree cover. Otherwise, there is a "average" RV park in Golden that could accomodate you for that long or possibly Cherry Creek State Park, further from the foothills.

I live close to Chatfield too. I can almost see it from my house - and we camp there quite a bit during the summer. We bring the boat there a lot too (there is literally 2 decent lakes in the Denver metro Chatfield and Cherry Creek). I l think Chatfield is a great place to stay. The sites are somewhat spacious (reserve loop D! Great for big rigs and big 5th wheels and trailers) and there is a really nice bath/laundry house on grounds. It's a state park so its well taken care of. WAY better than the Golden big rig campground in my opinion. Again make sure you reserve loop D. The other loops you will not have as much space.

I'm at Wadsworth and Chatfield. Columbine Knolls South II. Maybe we will see you at Chatfield sometime. If so you are welcome to come on the boat as we usually have it with us. We have the Berk and the Chris Craft open bow boat. Typically camp in loop D.

You have a bike? I have a 1985 FJ1100 (owned her for 19 years) If so we should go for a ride sometime.

We sold our bikes before we moved out here in March of 2011 from Minnesota. Mrs and I had BMW R1200rt's and suzuki DR650 dual sports. That sounds like a bad idea until you consider we have a 4yr old and 10month old. Camping in the summer, skiing in the winter (resorts have daycare!)

Although I've never stayed there, I've read lots of good things about Mountaindale Cabins and RV Resort (Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort. #1 rated cabin resort & campgrounds in Colorado. Best campground for camping in the Springs.). It's just south of Colorado Springs, off Hwy 115 -- very easy access to COS and Pueblo, and just over an hour to Denver. It's not in the mountains so it's sure to be warm. Definitely going to be pricier than the state parks, but I'm guessing you'll have a better shot at booking a 1-month reservation there.

I live in Pueblo. There is a KOA south of Pueblo (closest town is Colorado City) which is quite clean an has several amenities. It's not too high and so it shouldn't be too cold. I've dumped there a couple times but never stayed b/c I'm only 15 minutes away.
Lake Pueblo State Park is another option. Lots of mountain biking and boating options there. It should be warmer as well. There are some sites big enough for a Berk.
The Colorado Springs KOA was ok. Nothing special but it's a place to park while you do fun stuff around C.S.
Mueller is beautiful, but is a bit higher 9-10k feet if I remember, so it's likely to be cold, possible even to get snow in May.
Cheyenne mountain state park is a newer park outside "the springs" (which is what Coloradans call Colorado Springs). There are full hookups, nice new facilities, lots of hiking trails. Good views of C.S. Reservations may be difficult.
The mountaindale resort is a bit South of Cheyenne mountain. Either of those spots would be just fine.
You may also consider Canon City. There are a couple campgrounds over there and it puts you a little further from large cities.

We when and looked at both Mountaindale and Cheyenne Mountian state park for short get aways from home. Live in Pueblo. Cheyenne Mountain nice new faculity, but most spots are short and with our 40' Berkshire very few spaces to park in. As to Mountiandale, nice trees, play ground and there were in the process of installing cable TV. one draw back would be the camp spot are not concrete but have crushed gravel. Would stay at Mountaindale before Cheyenne Mountain. Cheyenne Mountain doesn't have any shade at all.

What I understand is the sensor in the coolant tank is located to high in the tank. I just added about a quart of water and that did the trick. The coolant tank is the square plastic deal - not the round plastic tank you first see with the 2 hoses coming out. Also (at least on mine) the coolant tank has the metal silver cap.
