Outdoor Entertainment Compartment
When I went to get the coach last week the dealer said that the stereo out there was bad and that he ordered a new one. I told him that as much as I liked Craig and Sharon's hospitality that I'd be going home the next day and would not travel back up there for the install so he sent it to me and I put it in, no problem.
Then I started to wash the coach and when I opened that compartment I noticed water had leaked in, probably why old stereo had failed.
Anyone else with this feature have this problem with water leaking in ?
I thought maybe wouldn't be a bad idea to install some sort of like a rubber shade of some sort to keep water from going on flat screen and stereo, besides trying to figure why its leaking in in the first place of course.

Joe,
I haven't looked at mine after washing it but now that you mention it, I noticed on FROG Bob's coach that there was a rubber flap that covered over the top edge of the compartment door. I guess I will need to check this out after my next wash.

Wouldn't some weather stripping take care of it?

Well I believe there is weather stripping there, I have to look to see if the hinges can be adjusted to pull it in some to make it pull in tighter to the weather stripping.

If the sides are wet when opening the door water will get inside. I have no problem with water intrusion after washing and drying mine.

Went outside last night and stuck a flashlight in the compartment, shut and latched the door and sure enough you could see a strip of light going across the top of the compartment door. Need to do some more investigation today in the day light. From what I can remember the door appears to have adjustment up and down but not to draw the door in. When shut it really looks like it could use to be brought in some towards the top as it is slightly sticking out beyond the coach wall a tad.

Had mine back to the factory a few weeks ago to have an issue handled and noticed that they had put a rubber flap across the top of my outside entertainment door. I wondered why and now I guess I know. I wasn't having any issues so it was just nice of them to do it.

Be glad to Joe, but I don't have the coach here right now. As soon as I can, I will.

I saw the same rubber flap on FROG Bob's coach when we were at the Goshen Rally and didn't know for sure why it was there. I assumed (yeah, I know) that it was because of a leak issue but wasn't sure. I haven't checked my outside entertainment compartment for water intrusion but will do so now. If I had known of this issue when at the Rally I would have had them put that rubber strip on then.

Gasman we had a real downpour last night and into this am. Just checked in that compartment after seeing your pictures and it's dry. Maybe the wind just didn't blow the right direction don't know.
I had thought of adding a rubber strip on the top edge of door so when it shut it would compress between top of door and top of compartment jamb and not really be seen. Maybe it wouldn't work but may try it when I find the material. If not I'll be calling FR for a piece of that strip.
Did you notice if it was held in place by adhesive or screws ?

Hey Joe. I've been through some unbelievable weather both driving and camping and never had a problem. I was surprised when I saw it on the coach, because I didn't ask for it, but always appreciate preventative maintenance! It looks like it is held in place with an adhesive strip.

I installed a bigger tv & just leave the protective wrap it came in on it, just in case water finds it way inside.
