Outside temp while driving
Hello all. I am kind of a weather geek and tend to pay attention the weather a lot. Since the Berk did not come with an outside temperature monitor (at least the 2013 model), if you have added one to your rig, what brand was it? Where did you put the temperature sensor?
Thanks, Glenn

The area's temperature is a selectable statistic that can be displayed on my Garmin RV 760 LMT.

$10 wireless indoor/outdoor digital display from Walmart. Velcro the outdoor sensor to an area that is open to air movement and protected from the weather. I put mine in the basement bay for the Propane tank. Works great.

Glenn.....
Being that you have a Berk...you could place the outside sensor in the generator drawer somewhere. Unless the genny is running, it should give you a pretty realistic reading of outside.
I would suggest you buy a thermometer unit from Walmart....the kind that measures indoor and outdoor. Pick which ever model looks best for the indoor positioning of the unit. They have a variety of battery powered units to choose from.
Mine is in the propane tank compartment because I have a gas engine motorhome.....so up front is not an option.

Purchased a indoor/outdoor one and placed the outdoor sensor in the water bay. Really only monitor when temps are real cold.

Thanks folks! The Walmart indoor/outdoor was the path I was thinking of, just wanted to check with others. I was also thinking the water bay would be a good spot for the sensor. I could mount the indoor display on Velcro and bring it in the house when I have the Moho put away for the winter and I could monitor water bay temps from inside the house to see if I need to put a heat source out there. -Glenn

I have an indoor outdoor unit but I just feel the window frame to see how hot is is... Arizona style, it's hot! Sometimes it's better to not know what the temperature is!

I bought an AcuRite system from Walmart. I used velcro to fasten remote unit in wet bay. There are more expensive units that will handle multiple remotes if you really want to know the true exterior temp. I was more concerned of the temp where all the water connections are.

Indoor/outdoor with remote sensor here also. I velcroed the remote outdoor sensor in one of the garage compartments next to my slide controller. The surface it is mounted on is basically the fiberglass wheel well so there is no insulation between it and the outside. Where it is at the temperature never gets affected by sunlight heating effect. It is also in a dry compartment so it is out of the elements and I don't have to worry about it disappearing.

It's in the settings, but can't remember where right off hand. My Apple watch has weather/temp at a glance, also.

The Rand McNally RV7760 GPS also has an area temperature feature.
