Paint worn down to fiberglass

I have a buddy with a Berkshire that was manufactured early in 2008. While helping him out yesterday I noticed that the paint in the nose and tail cap has worn down to the gray fiberglass. Also the paint on the AC and Frig. vent covers is all worn off. Almost looks like it was stripped. Has anyone else seen this on their coaches?

Seams odd to me. I told him he should contact Forest River as this must be a defect of some sort.

I have a 2008 and have lost some paint along the windshield. Just a small amount, but not in what I would consider a wear location. I thought it odd also. I have not had it happen on any of the appliance covers.

I have a 2008 Berk and it appears that the clear coat has worn off the top of the RV above the front windshield. It is up where it gets beat up by the sun and is not visible when standing on the ground. Nothing like what you are describing though.

how long did the clear coat last before the sun ate through it?

did you have it waxed to protect the paint at all? i plan to get my rig detailed at least once every 3 months since it sits outside all the time (no indoor storage for me )

I too have noticed some deterioration of the paint on the front cap but not down to the fiberglass. I have also noticed that the paint chips off in weird places like the middle of the entry door. Don't know why but the chip just appeared there one day.

I just bought it this year (2008 model), so I don't know when it appeared or how often it was waxed. I'll probably have that area repainted then keep it waxed often.
