Passenger sunshade came off spindle

I have an '08 Birkshire that had a strange thing happen. I'm sure it may not be strange to some of you so I'm looking for some advise. I called Forest River and they weren't much help but did tell me that it was out of warranty and if I wanted to, I could buy a new one through them. I did NOT call the sunshade maker, I'm not sure I have any paperwork on them.

My powered passenger sunshade slid itself off off the roller. I was parked and had both of them down about 1/2 way. it was hot and not sure if the glue melted but the material just slid off of the roller with the help of the weight of the metal brace. The glue that is supposed to hold the material to the roller was moist and actually kind of slippery, like siicon. The driver's side was solid with no problems.

I took it off since it was difficult to drive with the metal bracing hanging there.

My question is has anyone experience this and what was your resolution. Do the rollers have a limit switch or do they run continuously if power is applied.
