Picking up 2016 Berk XL 40BH - 380

Hi all, my 2016 Berkshire XL 40BH-380 should be ready for my PDI in a couple of weeks. I am picking it up at MHSRV in Alvarado. I am actually moving up to a diesel pusher because I had very bad luck with my 2015 FR Georgetown.

I hope and pray this unit works out better than the last one. Can you all help with the following:

1. What should I pay attention to during the PDI?

2. How different will the ride and driving, braking, etc be?

3. I am excited about this new coach, anyone have this coach and how do you like it?

Congrats on the new coach. I had a 2014 390BH-60 and loved it except the floor plan didn't work for us. First off you'll be amazed at the difference in the ride. You'll think you're floating on air. The engine is 40 feet behind you, nothing like the front engine gasser. Once the turbo gets spun up the engine has great pick-up. There is really no comparison between the two coaches.

Congrats ! Remember when driving you are sitting in front of the front tires so turning takes a little getting used to. It is heavy so you need to slow down earlier and leave more space. I think you'll have no problems driving it. Enjoy!

to the space that accumack mentions. Especially on roads with traffic lights. The car in front may be able to stop quickly for a red light, but you may not. The brake pedal is large, get used to using the top section of it.

If you haven't already, have the salesman let you take it for a drive on a high speed and country road.

Hay good luck with new coach it's the most bang for the buck like everyone has said leave a lot of space to stop other then that you are going love it
I have a 013 bunk 360 got it from lazey days FLA almost got from MHS Texas payed a few bucks more then MHS but it was a. Lot less of a drive home would like to know how the they are to deal with I think I going to upgrade in a year or two

I picked a 2014 390 BH-60 in March from MHSRV. The entire experience was comfortable and professional. MHSRV performed a very thorough PDI. MHSRV has numerous covered pads to keep the moho's unil the customer is ready to leave.

Bring a DVD with you to PDI to check DVD player and all TVs. Google Motorhome Pre Delivery Inspection, find one that is easy to use, print it out and take it with you. Bring extra scratch paper and a roll of Blue painters tape. If you find something that you need to ask about or you want repaired put a piece of blue tape on it so it doesn't get forgotten. PDI is usually information overload whether you are an experienced RVer or not. Think of the cockpit of a jet..... sit down, now fly............. yeah, it is kind of like that! There are a lot of buttons and switches and gauges. Take your time, ask questions, don't let them rush you.
And if you make a mistake just consider it content for a conversation starter at a campground or rally in your future. Chances are you will hear "yeah, I did that too" more often than you think!

No Phil my brother is the pilot in the family but not me. (I have seen the inside of his jet but only while it was on the ground). I DON'T fly.... even in my brother's plane. That is why we have a MH.

Karen you are missing out on one of the best things ever. I can't fly anymore and miss it so much. Flying your own plane is the coolest thing ever. That said second is owning a Moho.

We bought our first from MHSRV. Be sure to take a satellite receiver and hook up the satellite. Take a DVD with you to test the TV's. It took us 6 months working with FR to finally get it working. Best Buy Geek Squad finally got it working. Turned out it was never properly wired from the factory. MHSRV says they don't do anything with satellites on their orientation. Now I know why. Use their gracious facilities to check every item. Make sure the drawers are firm, as they tend to fly open when loaded. Also my windshield wiper only worked (touched the glass) in one direction. Use the washer and check that it cleans the glass. Make them adjust the right mirror for you, mine was not right and had trouble driving it home. Check the packet they give you, for the actual MSRP. Mine was inflated and not the original window sticker. Do this before you sign.
