Ed is finishing up the installation now. He bought a battery specifically to use for the freezer and installed the electrical in the basement for AC/DC.

Tonk....

Ed did a fantastic job... Looks really great...

(Don't forget to lock the slide in place or the fridge will slam into door when you turn a corner and could force it open.. You may have already taken care of that but just wanted to make sure)

By the way: great looking fridge.... Looks familiar... lol..

I will tell him, thank you!

Ah, lock the slide, glad you said something, I don't know if he did, but will ask.

It is a nice fridge. I like the one the guy above here posted. It's bigger.

Well, we are about to start our fourth week out and I'm pleased to report the our ref/freezer is working like a champ!!!! We left on June 28th and I set the freezer temp at 20 degrees... It has only varied up or down 2 degrees the entire time and everything has been frozen solid... It switches from AC to DC automatically and hasn't missed a beat ....

I did have one issue I had to correct while on the road tho... One I loaded it totally full of frozen food, the weight caused the wooden tray to sag in the middle and drag on the compartment rubber gasket when being pulled out or pushed in... Solution: a piece of angle iron at front and back of tray took care of the problem...

It's kinda fun to pull up next to some of those Newells, Provosts, and the like and watch their faces when our Berkshire shows its Ref/freezer to them.. Z

I had to overnight w/o shore power and my optima battery ran mine for 10 hrs before I plugged back into the truck. It was a pleasant surprise.

Well I did discover that since I have my ref/freezer plugged into an AC outlet that is effected by a ground fault outlet in the coach, you need to be aware that the GF outlet is thrown....

Almost lost my food because of that.... Something triggered the GF and also blew the DC fuse.... Fixed both and up and running again...

For Ernest

Ernest~

We are getting ready to use the RV and freezer finally, but the fuse for the freezer keeps blowing. What size are you using? We had a 5 and it blew, put in another and it also blew.
