Powered 50 amp low profile cord reel

I would love to add a powered 50 amp cord reel to my 2012 Berkshire. I have searched the Internet and have found nothing low profile that will work. The height available is only 8.5 inches. Every low profile unit I've found requires 11.5 inches.

Anyone know if such a thing exists?

Just the physical size and minimum bending radius of a 50 amp cord is going to dictate that any reel be larger than 8½" high.

The tightest bending radius I've found on 4C/#6 is 4", so that would require a drum of 8" diameter, and with the cable being ~1" diameter one layer would have a O.D. of ~10" or greater.

That would be awesome. Any detail on where you purchased it would be appreciated.

Spoke at length to the head engineer at the factory during our recent tour regarding this same issue. He said there is plenty of space above the inverter to move it up. He mentioned that there was the extra cooling fan in the bay (top leftside) to handle the needed cooling of the electronics. So if you wanted to, you could raise the shelf up a few inches and stick the horizontal style power reel (about 11" in height) in the bay. I plan on attempting that next year since that 50 amp cord is driving me crazy.

Buy this cable in bulk the length you want and terminate the ends yourself. It truly is almost like a wet noodle.

I have a 50' Glendinning power cord and love it..... Actually, I now have two - the original and this new one....

Oops Alert: in July year before last, on our second night out on a two month trip while at Raton Pass CG I drove off and left my original power cord laying by the power pole.... Didn't realize it until CG called and told me after I was already two hours north.... Major CRAP !!!! Didn't want to turn around and go get it (which would actually turn into a 6 hr turnaround) so I asked them to keep it until August and I'd get it on the way back...

Now I had to locate one in the Colorado Springs area - found one for $300.... Would've paid $500 in order to save the trip....

Soooo - now I have a spare.... The original one is super stiff but the new one is fantastic.... Even in the cold it's super flexible..... Was considering a reel until I got the new one and now don't really need it....
