Preferred Rate from Good Sam Insurance

I received a Good Sam/Camping World savings circular in the mail today. A page or 2 into the catalogue was an ad for a free digital tire gauge with an insurance quote. So, since my policy expires in mid-September, I thought, why not get a quote. I used to have my insurance with Good Sam which was through GMAC at the time. I left them because they are raised my premium from $1700/year to $2900/year, a $1200/year increase. But, I thought I would give them another chance. Well, it was a real waste of time. They want $2744/year. Almost 3 times what I am paying now. I'd hate to see what the rate would be if I were not a preferred customer!!!

I got a quote from Good Sam for my 2014 Wildcat 327, 2014 GMC 2500. & 2013 Honda CRV 2 months ago. For about the same coverage they wanted $2560/yr and my AAA RV plan cost me $2250/yr. There were some perks like the first 5 yrs a totaled RV gets replaced with a new current yr RV. But I thought that I have a 'live' agent 8 miles away to answer my issues and it's $300 cheaper.

I just got that plan a few months ago..... Mostly because of being a full timer, but also because of the new coach replacement; State Farm insurance (of which I'd been a policy holder for 50 years) is VERY iffy when it comes to full timers.

I have the coach and a 2012 Ford Fiesta and it's $1270 every 6 months. I wanted to go monthly as I was with State Farm, but it increased the monthly rate by around $50, to around $250 per month. OUCH!!

Boowho??

I've gotten their quotes on a couple of different occasions and they were never able to touch Progressive's prices. And...I've never gotten any of the "free" gifts that they said they'd give for comparing!

Good Sam's could cut their rates in half if they would stop with all the freakin mailers they send out on a daily basis.

It's amazing the different experience we have with insurance company's. We left Progressive and went to GS. It saved us some money but more so the coverage was much better. Dianna did the comparison and couldn't change fast enough. I have said it before I have a deep and lasting hatred of Progressive Ins.

I just split my TV and RV insurance and saved a boatload. Left the RV with GS at $354/6mo and went with Travelers on my TV at $973/12mo.... $1,681 total
