Propane tank vent

I had my Propane tank filled up today while traveling. When we got to out camp site and hooked up I checked the tank and it was off so I turned it on. When I did so, there is air coming out of the vent on the first regulator. The more I turn it on the more sure comes out, when I turn it off it stops.
What do I do to stop this?

I've replaced my dual stage regulator twice now on my 2013 Georgetown XL, with only 10k, ( warranty ) now I carry a spare one!! No, you shouldn't have to, but sure seems dangerous to have propane on and let it leak at the same time, I have the thread sealer for propane- it's different than the normal pft thread sealer for plumbing, and can swap it on site now!

Are you talking about your overfill valve venting. Any pictures.

That's what I thought at first then realized that would leak even if the tank was turned off.

If its venting from the first stage/auto changeover your unit is toast buy a new one.

Thanks guys, sorry for the delay up till 3am messing with the propane. It's the vent cable on the bottom of the first stage. I'm not propane savy so in not sure if that's the over fill vent??? I had the tank filled yesterday. Also take a close look at the pic in between the first and second stage there are tiny bubbles from where the tech sprayed the leak test fluid. They didn't appear until several hrs after filling.

Thanks for the tips! When the tech filled the tank he overfilled it blowing out the diaphragm causing it to leak from the vent! I found a two stage regulator and replaced it today. All's well.

Lesson learned: observe the guys filling my propane so they don't overfill and carry a extra two stage regulator on the coach!

Not sure how they can over fill the tank. The hose that they use (at least the ones at Flying J) has a nozzle on it that shuts off when the tank is full like the nozzle on a gas pump. How did you arrive at the conclusion that it was overfilled?
