Rear view Camera

I well start this thread with the first of many problem on new 38A.Purchased 2015 38A 4 weeks ago,and only had it home first week and it has been at the dealers the last 3.Moving up from a 32ft.class C to a DP.so having rear camera is not new.Problem is when the Driving Lights are on and you step on Brake the radio goes off and the rear camera comes on.THE DEALER now tells me this is normal?.Does any one have this on their Berkshire or am I being taken for a ride...After this I well start thread on next problem that the MH is setting at Freightliner for repair.

That is not normal on the Berkshires! When you place the motor home in reverse or turn the hazard lights on, the sound to the radio turns off and turns the rear microphone on on the camera.

I turn my camera on before starting to drive because I do not like driving blind especially when towing.

Think the issue is more like when we put ours in reverse and it automatically switches to rear view and turns the rear sound on....

Yes,just like reverse but this is every time you put on brakes while the headlights are on.Sounds like it could drive driver crazy at night in traffic.

Yes, this issue you are having is "not" normal and would definitely have someone look at the way it was wired..... Doesn't sound correct

Yea, my camera was wired to the Emergency Brake.
I looked up in the manual what wire was the 'reverse' wire.
Then I opened up the dash and cut that wire.
Did this on the 1,000 mile trip from the dealer.

Now putting the trans in reverse does not affect the camera which I like.
I can turn on a side camera while backing into a campsite.

Sorry about that, by no means was I trying to disrespect your post. I was just trying to help the OP with his issue.

No disrespect taken we all in this together getting assistance from other brothers and sisters who have gone through this or similar. I would hope since this forum is on the FR website that someone is monitoring it but I am thinking not.
