Reflection from slide window affects view in driver-side mirror on Berk 34QS

I have often had trouble using the driver-side mirror when backing into a camp spot. I noticed that there is often a bright reflection superimposed over the mirror view that I want.

It took a while to figure this out. The problem happens when I'm backing into a spot with tree cover, so that it is dark. But, the front windshield is facing a wide open, bright sky. My 34QS has "bay windows" on the living room slide, so that when the slide is retracted, one of the windows is right behind the driver's head. So, the light comes in the front windshield, bounces off the slide window and is headed for the driver-side mirror. Often that is more light than I get from the spot beside the RV that I need to see.

I wonder how may other RVs have a similar front-facing LR slide window. They likely have the same problem.

I just bought a black terry cloth bath towel and will mount/drape it on a horizontal stick and hang it from the ceiling behind the driver. I've just got enough room to mount it and not hit it with the slide. It will be removable, using eye screws.

I have had this issue with both my '08 and now with my '14 Berkshire. I have tried putting a dark blue towel on my dashboard because that is where the reflection is coming from. It helps somewhat but the reflection on my drivers side window is still there. I wish there was a solution to the issue. I posted about this problem years ago when I first got my '08 but the issue is still present.

My MH is parked now, so I haven't tried my solution, yet. I'll report back. Note that it puts the towel just in front of the mirror that gives the reflection.

When I drive, I can see ghost images of power poles, grain elevators and clouds that are in the right side of my view. They are above the dashboard.

I have been fighting this issue since day one. I brought it to the attention of FR but so far they provided no help. As you said conditions have to be right for this to happen but drivers mirror is useless.

Same problem for me on my berk. Thought about having anti glare film put on inside to prevent reflection.

Wow, I thought it was just me! This is truly annoying when it occurs, but it does happen a lot to me as well. I find myself putting it in "park" more often and getting out and looking at what is happening first hand.

I had to drive my brother in laws 2014 Tiffin Allegro and its so bad just driving down the road it's difficult to even use the drivers side mirror. Much worse than my Berkshire. Still, it is annoying when you're trying to backup.

I have been dealing with this since I bought my 08 new. I always blamed it on the double pane glass. In fact we schedule our arrival home to back in the driveway when the sun is not directly in front, and when we arrive at a campground at night we always get someone to assist.
GOOD LUCK
