The thin material is a hesitant point from me doing the latch. I have kids that automatically just open the door and if it doesn't open easily, they pull harder! I can just see them pulling the latch completely out of the door and messing up everything. At least the velcro strap I have around the handles is easily visible.

I still use the bungee cord around the handles. It's only there when we travel and you don't see it when we are parked so it's not unsightly at all.

Same here too. Works rather well. $.59 or $26. That bungee looks and works rather good with my fixed income. Ha

We have the bungees that came stock, but on our first trip we had a couple 12 packs of soda in the fridge and when I went around a sharp corner the sodas would slide against door and still pop them open (but not completely). The Velcro strap holds the door more securely.
