This looked like a great solution and a reasonable price for the latch so I finished this install today on the top French Doors of the fridge. I mounted it between the bottom of the fridge handles for two reasons. One, to make it somewhat inconspicuous and two, so that my 11 and 8 yr olds can open it themselves but not the 18 month old. :-) I will let you all know how it stands up over the next few months.
If anyone has a tip for how they keep the right fridge door from flinging open and hitting the wood trim over the sliding door to the bath and bunk area, I'm all ears. Cheers!

Yes, the whirlpool with French doors on top and drawer on bottom. I haven't had trouble with freezer drawer popping open yet so am going to hold off on adding one to the drawer. This is third season with our Berky and perhaps in time it will be needed. The latch comes with instructions but you won't really need them. Cheers!

Swaslaski,
I had the same problem of the door hitting the trim over sliding door. After the door hit the trim the first time, I took the trim off and cut it down so that the refrigerator door no longer hits it. I just put a little hot glue and a few staples from a staple gun to reattach it to cover the track.

After 2,700 miles and probably 600 open close cycles, I think we can put this mod in the books as a winner. Continues to perform with no adjustments needed. Good fix, easy install, useful, durable, and looks nearly factory. Thanks again Phil.

I visited a friend who just took delivery of a new Tiffin Phaeton. They supply Maytag residential freezer/refrigerator made by Whirlpool. The latch they included to hold doors shut are the same as the cabinet drawer latches FR supply's that is interesting.

Joe it's an issue with all residential fridges. The multi fuel fridges have a lock built into them that lock when the engine starts. Nice but not available on the residential units. I saw this fix simple and cheap that another manufacturer was putting on there MH. Most give you a bungee that works ok but not great. I haven't done this but I can't imagine it would take more than 20 minutes or so. Make sure you use a bit of silicone behind the plate.

All of the above are correct and the Freezer door lock can also be added to the side! I cant believe that High end MHs would come with (Bungee Cords/Tarp Straps) for travel locks! Use these locks they are the (Real Deal)! Youroo!!
