Rubber Strip under Berk kitchen slide out

This is probably a long shot, but I got to ask if it happened to anyone else.

After closing the kitchen slide out, I noticed a floppy rubber strip, about an inch and a half wide, hanging out from the bottom. When I reopened the slide, the end that didn't come out was in further to where I couldn't see. The length is the entire length of the slide.
I would seem to me, that to fix something like this, the whole slide would need be removed to get that back to where ever it came from.

Anyone else have this problem ?

Thanks,
Ken

Hi Kenny,

Ar you speaking about the outside? Is it the rubber strip that should be attached to the bottom of the slide or the wiper attached to the coach?

If the rubber on bottom of slide I would think cut it off and replace. If you look under kitchen counter the fascia can be removed so you can see under slide. Might be able to pull out rubber when slide is in. I would check with dealer first so as not to void warranty.

As your check list grows you may want to reconsider joining us at Goshen this year. You cannot beat Randy,s people when it comes to warranty repairs and it should not be more than a day from your location. You could buy us all a bear for the free advice.

This is the wiper strip that is attached to the body and not the slide.
I wouldn't mind going to Camping World, where I bought it, but I just don't like leaving it anywhere but home. I try to get minor things done while I wait, if it can be arranged.
I'll definitely think about Goshen. I'll read up on it tonight.

Thanks,
Ken

The wiper must have gotten caught on the roller under the slide. On my coach the wiper had been notched so it would not get caught. The rollers are about 6 inches long, multiple placed under slide for it to roll on. I bet going in the folded in and caught between slide and roller and pulled off. Only takes one catch to start it. I wonder if you close the slide half way if you could pull the loose wiper out from outside? It may be over the first roller but not to the second set. May have to jog the slide a little to loosen the wiper as you pull. Don't get caught.

Ken, getting RV service while you wait is amost impossible.
Most common is that they will want to keep it a week or two.

Since you are just one state over from the Goshen Rally, I really urge you to make that if there is any way you can. You will get the best service while you enjoy yourself with other activities.
And yoou will get to meet a bunch of form members to boot.

I understand how the dealers operate. I'm pretty lucky to have a reasonable dealer down the street from me. I didn't buy it from him because he doesn't sell the diesel class A's, but he said he is wiling to do my "house" warranty issues. With my past units, I could usually wait for small items. But I'm thinking the wiper gasket could be a little more.

SO.....

What's the link where I register for Goshen ?

Wow.....I bet that will be a tough day on their server.

So what do they have for hookups? Wife won't go unless we have full hookups. I'm lucky to get her to go at all

I pull and cut mine out as it was binding slide and getting tangled. Haven't done anything in year with it as not sure importance but look like a real pain in --- to replace. It had little metal charred teeth in rubber and looks like a problem.
