Rv resorts around Minneapolis
We are going to a huge soccer tournament in Minneapolis next week. Can anyone recommend a nice spot. A pool is a must and needs to accommodate a 40ft 390BH-60. We are looking at the KOAs but are open to others as well
Tournament is a North West University and will have 1153 teams attending

Can't help, but subscribing. We head there in a few weeks and need a decent place to stay.

What's wrong with nudism and kids? Most kids are way more comfortable than adults are. Please know, nudism is NOT the same as swinging.

Avatan. Cleanest pool I have ever used. Children are welcome. There are usually quite a few. Nice playground for them. I am on my way there Saturday and be there for a month. They treat the guests like royalty. The only area wear clothes are not permitted is at the pool. Clothing is optional everywhere else.
We only go to the family resorts. No swinging.

SW KOA - quiet, narrow lanes, spots close together, indoor pool, level sites most with concrete patios, mini golf is falling apart, nice camp shop, staff not as friendly as NW
NW KOA - outdoor pool, spots further from office are extremely muddy when it rains, spots close to office are level and graveled, did not check out the mini golf (if there was any), friendly staff

I'm not sure if it is close or not, but I think I've settled on staying at Lebanon Hills County Campground. They have full hookup sites but not a whole lot else. Re-reading, this may not help you as there is no pool. (In fact, my kids may be disappointed there...)

Country Camping in Isanti is good, also check out Dakotah Meadows. These don't have pools but are nice. Fish lake Campground in Prior Lake is good too. Again no pool, but a beach on a lake.

We don't have much in the way of RV parks around the twin cities unfortunately. We have lots of regional and state parks that are quite nice. Some have access to a beach on a lake or river. Lake Elmo Park Reserve has a man made beach swimming pond that might be ok for you too? We've stayed at that park - it's really nice! They don't allow pets though.

We stayed at the St. Paul East RV park 2 summers ago. Nice pool, cg was nice, and right off the interstate.

We just returned from staying at Lebanon Hills for 9 days with grandkids. There is a nice water park just 2 miles down the road and the zoo within a mile. Space 41 is nice and level, plenty of grass and large tree for shade. Water hook ups are at front of sites so plan on an extra hose.

We recently went to northern MN and did a quick stopover at Lebanon Hills state park late on a Friday. We were pretty fortunate to get a site as everyone was booked solid. Sites are pretty tight but was a nice stay, reasonably priced, and seems like a nice park (may have a beach?) with other things in the area. We spent two nights at Town and Country the following weekend. Nice place, clean, small pool, and owners seemed friendly. Much more expensive than we are used to, and having to rent a fire ring seemed pretty stingy to me. We have done a stopover at the NW KOA before and it seemed decent too. Doesn't seem to be a lot of camping options for such a major city.

Thank you all for input. My wife has now booked into one of the KOAs. Things are very booked up. This soccer tournament has almost 20000 players from around the world and apparently there is some sort of music festival on at the same time. My fault for waiting till the last minute. Now I know why my wife bugs me to book early

Well we actually do have a lot of camping options if you count all the campsites in regional parks, state parks, county parks and the private campgrounds (including KOAs). But definitely fewer private rv park options around these parts. Minnesotans really..really..really dig their state parks.
Campsites for all the publicly owned campgrounds open for reservations between February (State) and March/April (Regional/County). If you wait longer than 2 weeks after they open reservations you might be out of luck for a weekends spot until closer to end of August or event September!!!
We are camping nuts I guess!
