Satellite dish
Well, went to Camping World yesterday for an install of a winegard travlr dish. I guess there is no opening on the roof of "14" Berks, so they were unable to put in the dish without major modifications. Anyone need a dish hopper and some joeys?

Before I would give up the dish, recommend you get a hold of Randy Houser at FR. I'm sure they normally put an place for the satellite antenna to get into the unit.

Thanks. That's a good idea. I was just down there in early April and didn't think to ask him. Kind of was on the spot at CW having the dish and a maxxair fan put in.

There is a thread about this and they talk at length about the sat prep and how to find it.

Satellite dish
Gasman that link didn't work and I'm on my phone. It's a post from April and it's titled "Newbe sat reception" or something like that. It has a drawing that BooHoo got from FR and others have used it do the install.

Gasman,
I would look on the roof of your '14 Berkshire. On my roof there is a circle with some letters in it for I believe where the wiring for a dish is located.

Which receiver are you using? Did they have to modify anything?

Gasman,
Don't know what to say. I was on my roof the other day to look at the front AC and was surprised to see a circle drawn with what looked a black marker. I am assuming (I know what happens when you assume) that it is the location to drill for the wiring if you wanted to install a satellite receiver.

I also have the travler mounted on the roof of my 2014 berkshire. Had it installed when I purchased it. No mods had to be done.

Direct TV, not sure of the exact model. LazyDays installed the dish on the center of the roof and the wired came down and into the center entertainment area.

Looking at the floor plans, (I have a 390FL), the problem may be that my front TV is in the slide. That is what the guy at CW commented on..no way to wire into the slide without major (read expensive) wiring/modifications.

Gasman do you have a cable labeled Sat feed in your entertainment center? The only use for that is the other end is on the roof. If you have that (and it's a switch plate with the cable fitting on it) then you should have the prep in the roof.

I believe that I do, but I'll check it next time I'm at the storage area.

That's EXACTLY where I found mine on the 2011 model. However, I found no power wiring; had to improvise.
Boowho??
P.S. Love the professionalism of the drawing itself.....Sorta like it was drawn on a paper napkin or some such!!! That drawing came DIRECTLY from FR!!! Guess they don't have a CAD/CAM department, eh??
Boowho??
