Satellite Dish or Tracvision

I'm trying to decide which satellite dish/dome to upgrade to for a new Berkshire purchase. I want Dish HD capability.

Which is better:
Winegard TRAVíLER DISH 1000 or

Tracvision R6 DX radome

I don't have the latest Winegard, but the acquisition time on the one that I have is fantastic. At the RV store we always pushed the Kingdome because it was a much more reliable system. THEN, winegard made major modifications to their system, and it far exceeded the Kindome with regards to performance and reliability.

No experience with the Tracvision. My suggestion would be to attempt to find either someone with the systems you're considering and have them demo it to you.

I'm also sure you'll get some good feedback here on the forum.

We have the traveler and would never go back to a dome. We have no need for in-motion usage.

The traveler has picked up signal in very sketchy areas with heavy cover.

ShWe have the HD traveler for Directv and love it. Never any issues in the 2 years of ownership.

Never owned a dome so cant help with it as a choice. Folks who have.owned them have told me they are nice for in-motion viewing but are not great in rain or fog? Since you have dish you have a lot.more choices for HD dishes
