Service in SW Florida

Anyone have any comments on which dealer in Southwest Florida provides the best warranty service for our Berkshire? The closest dealer is Gerenzy's RV World. I can get an appt with them when I need one. Next closest to us is LazyDays but they don't have an opening until Jan. 17th. All for warranty service.

Dream RV in Fort Myers is a FR dealer and worked on Paul’s Moho last year.

Yep, Gerzeny's bought them and I have an appt. next month. Lazydays couldn't get me anything until Jan. 17th. They are about 15 minutes away so an easy ride there and back.

Never been there before. Drove by it on the way to North Trail or Camping World a few times. We are close by too. Just off Colonial Blvd.

One question, what do you need done? Chassis, engine or coach? If it is chassis or engine take to Cummins or a frightened authorized dealer. Skip

Gerenzy's have three more locations till you get to Lazy Days. Nokomis, Bradenton and Lakeland. I get my Cedar Creek serviced @ Nokomis store. They are a good family run business.

Nothing major. New shower skylight and an adjustment to my kitchen slide. They are 7 miles away from me in Ft Myers so I'm gonna drop it off on the 18th.

Hopefully we won't have to spend the week in Charleston with only three slides out

I checked out Cypress Trail. Very nice. We are going to try to stay there for a weekend or more this winter. Maybe we will see you there.

We bought our Berkshire XL 400 RB in 2015 at a dealer in Jacksonville, had dozens of warranty items needing to be fixed before we took it home but they were incapable of fixing these items. After two months we gave up and wanted to bring our brand new Berk home. We tried to get a appointment at Dream RV for the work but they are only interested in repairing RV’s that are purchased from them, Orlando RV in Orlando (Winter Park) took us in but after they had it a month and had not done anything we found out that any coach that they sold took priority over ours even if it came in after ours. They do horrible work also and tell you nothing but lies and excuses to string you along.
To make a long story short we made a appointment with Mitch at FR in Elkhart Deisel Division plant and took our coach there this past March, had it for two weeks and fixed everything. Ours was right there in the assembly plant near where other Berkshire’s were rolling off the assembly line.

I think it is a major flaw that there is no accountability in the dealer network. Standards are well below what can reasonably be expected.

If I were not a tool guy I'd have to think real long and hard about getting an RV.

Yes many dealers do not do a good job on service- I hear the factory does a great job on repairs-But if they increased quality control on the way out you would have not needed the dealer to fix things that were wrong on delivery.

Toyota or Honda will start building rv's some day and the industry will be crying about unfair oversea competition.

For now we are blessed to have Mitch at Forest River.

Hi yes it is great to have Mitch at FR, although at times he was miffed about the length of our list of things that needed to be repaired. I had to remind him we bought this Berkshire brand new and never should have left his factory with these items being missed. He did admit at the time ours was built they did not have a quality control expert to inspect the coach before they left the assembly line. When we took the tour in Elkhart at the deisel plant, the guys on the line were proud of their work. If the QC inspector saw a flaw they put red tape on the area and the guys don’t like their work red taped. Even though FR fixed everything we took our coach from Kissimmee Florida to Elkhart Indiana and stayed in a hotel for two weeks on our own dime.
