The awning on the coach is made by carefree. The vista shade is made by shade pro

How does this Shade Pro attach to the original awning? And with the awning extended, I'm guessing you need a ladder to reach it to attach the awning?

Attaches in awning channel. With awning extended, you can reach without ladder to attache lower portion and I am only 5'7"

The bottom 6 Ft. unzips to remove and store.
The top part of the shade rolls up with the awning.
Very easy.

The initial installation was tough for me. Had to have a helper and 2 ladders.
It does slide in a groove on the shade roller, but has to be lined up with a slot on the front end cap which is not at the bottom.

I had to remove cap toward rear to do install.

Rich, here is a picture of the slot I was talking about to get the awning through.
You can see why it was so hard.
Your way was probably easier.
