Slide- out extension not fully extending on Dinner / Sofa ( berkshire XL 40B)

We are having a slide problem with the slide out , its opening up but not sitting itself down ( 4 inches gap on top inside ) the pump still wines then stops after about 3-5 seconds .
Any ideas of what could be the problem ?

Thanks

Mckyver

Lots of things.... Search this forum there's pages and pages.

First question: What model slide mechanism do you have?

Sorry, don't know why my post went through twice.

OK, it's a hydraulic and the bottom is extending but the top is not operating correctly. This means the hydraulics are ok.... all they do is push out the bottom. So, you are probably looking at the cables which don't actually operate the slide but keep it aligned..... See if they are binding somewhere, frayed, a bad pulley... can be a lot of things.

Sometimes it's hard to see behind the trim. A trick I use is to stick a cell phone over the edge and use it as a camera..... You can also see a lot of the top part of the cable with the slide IN and looking over top of it from the side....

I don't think these slides have cables.

My hydraulic slide has cables. While they don't directly operate the slide, they keep it aligned..... not sure if it's a Lippert or not, but since 90% of them are....

Yes but he said he has a 40B, so that means it's an XL.

That means his hydraulic slides are Equalizer, and I am pretty sure they don't have cables.

His lippert slide is electric. Also looks like the 40B has an Equalizer electric slide for the bed.

OK, that's why I asked at the top but he said Lippert.... Be nice to get a model and then find the instructions.....

Oscar, the sofa slide on the 40B (same as mine) is in fact the #4 slide and is an Equalizer slide. Equalizer slides, regardless weather electric or hydraulic powered do not have cables. Tomorrow I’ll visit Berkie in storage and will be able to give you the specific m/n.

OK, interesting. That means that if the box is tilting inward at the top it's binding.... In theory you should be able to give it a push then no? (I've actually owned a slide on a previous unit that needed a little help that way)

Is it going all the way out on the bottom?
