Slide Toppers

My 2011 390RB has slide toppers made by Carefree of Colorado. There were are no covers for the rollers, such that you could see the actual roller whether the slide was in or out. Looked tacky, IMHO.

Did any of you have these covers installed when you purchased a new Berky? Are the covers optional from Carefree??

I have installed the covers myself at a cost of $1400 (OUCH!!)

FR says they never put them on. I was hoping to maybe get a little help from them with the costs I incurred.

Regards

I noticed the same thing. Even in the manual it shows there should be covers on them. The dealer told me on my walk thru that's how they pick up the units. They didn't know they should have a cover. I would assume it may be left off because it collects debris? Not sure.

Yes, my manual showed them as well, and no mention of them being optional. It was expensive, but dressed the coach up so much.......

And no3putt, consider yourself lucky. I did get the power awning over the entry door however.

Looked at the 08/09 Berkshire brochure and it mentions the side toppers, looked at 10/11 brochure and it dosen't mention them. Guess we got lucky.

NO3putt...... Just to be clear, I DO have the toppers. But the rollers (like a shade) were exposed and out in the open. What I installed were covers for the rollers themselves, so that they are now covered and can no longer be seen(whether the slide is either in OR out).

No3putt:

Covers are available. Don't know what they're made of, but look like the same material as the main awning.

My RV tech in Apache Junction, AZ put mine on. He said they had to be custom ordered/made by CareFree of CO. That's why they were so expensive.

I believe that's because Carefree no longer manufactures the exact slide toppers we have on our Berks. So Carefree had to make mine specifically for me. And only a measly $1400!! MASSIVE sticker shock when the tech gave me the bill.
