Like probably many of you, I wrestled with the problem as to where to place the map. Finally my DW and I decided to mount on the interior of the door. It is viewable when the door is open, which it generally is when we camp.

Home Depot had a perfect size sheet of Lexan (12" x 24"), which I placed the map on and then used four tiny screws to mount it. A picture is attached.

Just as with "How you count the states", I feel it is what you want as well as the placement also.

If I've touched foot within a State's borders, it goes on my map.

So what's your problem with Michigan? We are nice people and their is no better place to be in the summer than west Michigan. The west coast from South Haven to the bridge is a very enjoyable trip.

We used to only count ones we spent the night in the camper in. Now that we seasonal camp it would be a pretty boring map so we didn't get one for the new camper.

It shouldn't matter whether you camp in a state or pass through. Even just passing through you are seeing some of what the state has to offer. So you didn't camp there. How much more would you have seen if you just stopped to camp for the night and then moved on? If I had a map I would go with any state I passed through.

I actually label our map as "Camping States" so there is no confusion. I don't count it unless we actually camp at least one night there.

Hi Phil: I have no problem with Michigan. I heard that it is beautiful and in fact we are planning a 8,500 mile trip around the US, this summer. Michigan is definitely on the itinerary. In 2012, we did a 7,500 mile trip around the US and is where we added a lot of states. Somehow though, we missed Michigan; sorry!

One of these in each corner of the Lexan then stick it to a window.

On a previous unit (Coleman Pop-up), we only indicated a state when we camped in that particular state - whether it was 1 night or more.

But as others have said, to each his/her own. You make your own criteria.

And by all means

Very ingenious, Ford. I see that you like the Alexander idea, also. I'd rather do a bad map pasting on job, on the lexan, then on my paint. LOL

Wow, I hate the auto typing thing. Alexander was meant to be Lexan. I should really proof read.

I presume that you are talking to me, Boo. We were planning a couple night stay. I'm sure that there is a lot to do and see, but taking off from the estate coast on the 8,500 mile trip doesn't leave us much time.

I rv just kidding. If you do plan a trip up here let me know maybe we will be close to where you are. It sounds like you have a great trip planed. I think I'm ready to get on the road.
Boo we most likely will stay in MI most all summer. Miss the grandkids to much.
