Steering stabilizer

Anyone using a steering stabilizer. Looking at tru center vs safe t plus. Had a safe t plus on my old class c. Liked it, but wondering if the tru center adjustability is worth the extra cash for the DP chassis. Also, is it a very hard job to self install?

Have Safe-T-Plus on ours. Made a big difference in the steering, nice and firm now and helps with the wind and when trucks pass. Was a two handed driver, but now most of the time can drive down the road one handed. Except on windy days of course. There is a video on their web site o how to install.

Any one else use these? Or know the size if a 2014's tie rod diameter?

Yes it does. I don't think that it will need to be done frequently, but it's nice to have that ability.

Just took delivery of a TruCenter system. Couldn't beat the price. Looking forward to installing it within the next week or two. Little worried about the wiring, but I'm committed.

JJ, where did you buy your TrueCenter? I did my own install, so if you have any questions I'd be glad to help.

I got mine from EBay. Seller is wegotwhatyouneedrv. The business is Camper's Paradise out of Charlotte. $819.00 plus $18.82 shipping. Got the brackets from Amazon for $81.08. Still need a torque wrench. Trying to find a neighbor that has one to save me.

I will definitely call on you if I run into a problem. Thanks for the offer. How long did you need to install the system? I've got a week in Myrtle Beach and trying to figure out if I have time before the trip to install or wait until I get back.

Good price! It can be done in a full day if you start in the morning. I'd say I had probably 8-10 hrs total time. I split it into two days. I would recommend becoming familiar with instructions before install. Double check which way mounting brackets go and making sure that washers, etc. are correct on bolts before tightening (guess how I know that?) Also, they ask for 250 lb/ft of torque. I bought a special torque wrench to do this. I just tightened as tight as I could get. Also, have some Loctite. Make a plan for wiring for power and switch to the unit. There are two holes in the firewall on drivers side that are closed with silicone. I opened one and fed wire through there and resiliconed. I may have drilled it a little larger. Power wire feeds to power bay below driver. I pulled cover that holds gauges and switches to left of driver and used a straightened coat hanger to pull wire through from front left corner in area sealed with foam in power bay below. Actual install time is relatively short. The prep time takes as long or longer. I mounted the switch on that left panel. There is a picture of it on truecenter thread under Berkshire forum area. Hope this helps and good luck. It's definitely a worthwhile product to have. Can't wait to see how it performs out west in the open, windy areas.
