For steps to stay out with door closed, Lippert steps = switch off/Kwikee steps = switch on. Door switch, Lippert = normally closed/Kwikee = normally open.

You don't say if coach is running or parked if it's running it will retract when you close the door by design. If you are parked and switch is on step will retract when door is closed and extend when door is open. So if you want step to stay out all the time turn switch off when door is open and step is already out. If you are doing that the magnetic switch in the door could be bad.

The only other criteria i can think of is the DC power switch being selected off, thus nothing DC works. With DC power switch on, stairs power switch on, When the door is open and the ignition off, the steps will extend and stay out.

Could you provide more information? Like is the engine running? Or is the ignition on?
Get the dealership to check it and fix it before you sign the paperwork.

I don't quite understand your posts, but reading the Kwikee manual it states for the steps to stay our, the switch must be in the ON position.
Lippert is the opposite. Step stays out with the switch OFF.
Have you read those manuals?
