Stone / Mudflap | Check Yours...

All should check their connections on the stone / mudflap on the back of the coach. While on the way to our storage building a motorist flagged me down and said I had something dragging. We pulled over and found the right side had broken free.

Installed new hardware yesterday with removable Loctite on all threads. I also checked the two on the passenger side those were only finger tight.

Excuse the ugly sheet - I was using it to lay on the ground... LOL

The picture is not the best, but the corner of the flap and part of the aluminum is chewed away. Waiting from to hear from the dealer if they plan to pay for a new flap since the coach is less then 2 months old.

We almost lost our also, found many bolts not tighted up. FR replaced ours, but they are not cheep from what the dealer told us. Put lock tight on every bolt that holds it in place.

Hey - that doesn't look so bad..

Mine has a big dent in the middle from coming out of a Walmart Parking lot. I guess the flap hit the hitch.

One of my neighbors has the same 390 and his has the same dent in it.. :-)

Anyone know how much a replacement might run?

Lazydays is going to replace mine under warranty. I am not sure what the dealer mark up is but they were going to try and sell me one for around $800.00.

When I called FR parts, they said the price was about $550 with shipping so I saved some by getting it from Future Sales. This was about a year ago.

The Forest River is also available thru DuraFlap mud flaps.
They also make custom mud flaps custom cut to fit each coach.
When using those D rings, you want to make sure to be screwing it tight in a downward position. So make sure the hub is facing downward to help keep it from unscrewing with gravity assistance.

When I installed the new hardware this pat weekend I used removable LocTite on the threads.

I checked my 2010 out and found the bolts tight. The scuffing of the flap(my own experience) may be the result of driving before the coach is fully lifted. My flap rests on the ground when stored. I, also, have the telltale dent in the center of my flap. Thanks guys.
