Tank #1 Airleak

It started several weeks ago when I noticed after a brief stop that Tank #2 held it's pressure and Tank #1 lost all its pressure w/ seconds. I stopped by the local Freightliner dealer and one of their techs said all he had to do was reattach a hose. I,of course, asked why the hose came off and if were likely to do so again. He couldn't say as to both questions.

Fast forward to this weekend. Everything seemed to work well for a trip or two. This weekend Tank#1 leaking again but at a slower rate than before. You can hear it venting but that stops when the air automatically dumps. As the air pressure increases again so does the venting.

Any ideas?? It's hard for me to get under the coach but I have a 13 year old grandson w/o an ounce of body fat who can if necessary.

Don't know what model you have but on our 38A we found the air line to the air chock on the forward bulkhead leaking just short of coming apart. If you can hear it from the front of the MH check there first.

A "T" valve was leaking at the rear of the coach. Freightliner replaced it and tied up a loose transmission cooler line all for $350.00. Warranty of course, but these guys aren't cheap.

Dan,
Why did you have to pay anyghing? Your coach should still be under warranty. Was the charge just to secure the trans cooler line? If so, that seems very expensive!

I apologize for the poorly worded post. Warranty covered the entire cost. I was just commenting on the fact that the labor to install an $11.00 part came to $292.00 plus another $25.00 for shop fees and $26.00 tax.

Dan,
I am still not sure why you had to pay anything for the T valve install. It should have been covered under your Freightliner chassis warranty.

Got it now! So that is what Freightliner put down as the cost but you didn't have to pay it. I guess that I was a little slow on the uptake here.

Not to worry. Sometime I don't understand my own submissions.
