Ernest what a great site. I love the natural setting. We snowmobiled in Togwotee Pass several years ago. Some of the most beautiful country I have ever seen. Of coarse it was winter and the snow was measured in yards not feet or inches. We plan to go see it in the summer someday.

Day 7 - Gros Ventre CG...

Fun day today.... Lots of sight seeing and lots of wildlife - bison herd, black bear and cub, prong horn antelope and a bull moose... Went to Jenny Lake, Signal Mountain and ate lunch at Jackson lake..

Got a little chilly in the early AM but that's better than what's going on back home...

Head for Colter Bay tomorrow....

Say..... did you see Shane up there? Looks like a great time. DW and I are going to take a similar trip in a couple of years... I retire in 16 months, but it will be November so we'll have to wait for the snow to go away before we head out. Have fun!!!

Ernest, we should trade places; I had one of your days. Dodged a storm, dealt with a flopping wiper arm, then had the escort to my KOA site instruct me to follow him left at a right turn only street and guess what...couldn't complete the turn. So now I have to unhook the jeep with it cocked on a downhill grade... genius!

Bright side, we safe and happy.

Day 8 - Colter Bay RV Park

After 40 mile drive today, we made it to our spot in Colter Bay... This has always been one of our favorite spots...

Only get WiFi down at Laundromat... So I'll come down a couple of times a day to ck things....

Might go on Dinner Lake Cruise tomorrow night... Did breakfast cruise last time and loved it... Momma griz and cub was through CG earlier today... Marty, this needs to be on your list as well....

Gonna spend tomorrow just driving around seeing the fantastic scenery...

And the rangers didn't do anything about it? A grizzly with a cub being unafraid to wander thru a campground worries me.

When I said earlier that your chances of a grizzly attack were less than being hit by lightning, I was talking in general not when one is walking by 10 feet away with a cub.

Actually ANY bear that doesn't run like hell AWAY from you in the woods, is a potentially dangerous bear.

Boowho??

Day 10 - Flagg Ranch CG ..... (I'm doing this update on day 13 which I'll detail shortly)

NO cell or WiFi so guess we'll just see the sights and take good naps....

Update - have had issues with my Mini Cooper boiling the water in the radiator reservoir so having to deal with that by driving 25 miles to a mechanic at Grant's Village in Yellowstone tomorrow...Click image for larger version

Day 11 - Flagg Ranch CG

Going to Grant Village to deal with Mini Cooper issue....

Update: mechanic feels that the theromastate is sticking so he will replace that and flush the radiator tomorrow.... Now have to drive back to CG and hope we have no issues.....

Made it back and no boiling.... Has me second-guessing diagnosis...

Day 12 - Flagg Ranch

Got to Grant Village and told mechanic I believed it was the radiator fan - not the thermostat... Checked and found that the power steering fan has crud blocking it which caused the radiator fan to not work as well.... Cleaned fan and everything works great.... Did screw with our sight seeing in Yellowstone though...

My daughters car is having the same exact problem. Shop quoted 350 for fan and 250 labor. Her car has 156,000.

Tater....

My Mini has 161,300 miles on it and it will run with the new ones.....

Is your daughter's a mini?? If so, get underneath it and check the power steering fan... It's the most poorly positioned item I'm ever seen... It's underneath the engine facing down with no screen over the fan opening to keep crap out as you drive down the road... Mine was full of mud and grit.... Once we cleaned it out and replace the 5amp fuse it blew when it jamed, everything started working as it should....
