Usually the % of tint is how much light will pass through. 5% is super dark, so a higher number should be better.

Most good tint will have all the specs which will show the three main areas we should be concerned with - Solar Reflect, Solar Absorb and Solar Transmit.... The absorb spec should never be 50% or higher for dual panes....
