Tire Choice
I see FMCA offers Michelin, Hankook and Continental fires in their tire-buying program....
I currently have Michelin’s on my class A coach that are starting to show a tad bit of cracking but if I could a save s few dollars and still get a decent tire in either of the other two brands I’d consider switching.....
Any opinions on them.... I’d appreciate any feed back....

I don't have much for you. I have the Michelins and am pretty happy with them. Haven't heard many horror stories about them either. Can't say the same for the others, you and I both know that the 5%-ers make a lot more noise than the happy people. 90% chance I will put new Michelins on there when the time comes.

How old are the michelins and are they regularly used? When I bought my coach the michelins were about 2 yrs old and showed very fine cracks. Took the coach to a tire shop for inspection. I was told not to worry, with a little usage they will disappear, it was natural for these very fine cracks to develop when not used. Sure enough in driving the coach they are all gone.

Yup, the "rubbery part of the rubber will mix and smooth itself", to a point. (sorry about the atrocious technical terms....., not a tire engineer)
My tires are 2-1/2 years.... plus whatever time they lived before I drove it off the lot, and they are smooth as a baby's butt.

We’ve been sitting in this CG in South Texas since Dec..... leave end of March....
Hopefully these small cracks will be fine.... not in the mood to drop $2K-$3K right now....

My last set of Michelin’s had to be replace due to cracks, not wear so I’m wondering if this is a characteristic of their tires......

How old were they? At 5 years just about any brand starts drying out. How fast is matter of use and environmental conditions.

Usage is key from what I have been told in getting the maximum life out of your tires. I take the coach for a drive of 30- 40 miles down the interstate every few weeks. I "semi-boondock" in the parking lot at my business through out the month so when the tanks are full, "Matilda" get's her exercise. Keeps the tires from flat spotting, the diesel fuel from getting too old, a chance for a regeneration to happen if needed, transmission and drive train used and lubed plus any condensation in the air intake and oil to get evacuated. Plus when we go camping, I'm pretty sure all systems are a go.

We r full-timers so tires, coach, tranny, etc get a work out.... except when we winter here in South Texas.....
I do run diesel regularly and gen (under load) regularly as well.... We hit the road again in a few weeks and will again giving everything a full work out.....
We’ll cover abt 8K miles in 2019 and are looking forward to getting started.....

We go camping 80+ days a year..... 12,000 miles. No flat spots here.
