Tire upgrade question

Hello,
I have a 2009 Berkshire 390TS. It came stock with 255/80R/22.5 Michelin tires on steel wheels with hubcaps. Would it be OK to upgrade the tires with 275/80R/22.5 Michelin XZA3+

The only question you must find out and answer is that all dually tires must have a specific distance between them. THis question came up in the Georgetown section. If you can maintain the recommended distance between them your ok. I will try and find my document where it siad a specific distance.

I think the minimum spacing for the XZA3's is 12.2 inches. This must mean center to center. My duels are 13.5 inches center to center.

Yes you can. I have 275/80 on my 2011 RB 390 and no problem. I have the XZE2 tires. You will need to have a Freightliner shop reflash your computer to get the speedometer correct.

I'm considering going to Michelin XZA2 275/70R/22.5 they are very close in size to the original tires (1' wider) but have a higher weight rating. I wouldn't have to have the speedometer re calibrated with these tires.
