Tranny Fluid

Allison recommends Mobil1 Delvac for the transmission. Is there a acceptable substitute? That will be compatible with what's in there now?

I'm replacing the external filter and my neighbor said I should re-fill the new filter with fluid before screwing it on.

Boowho??

In my opinion, there is no substitute for Mobil 1 motor oil, transmission fluid or differential grease. It is the best on the market. Filling filters is a good idea as the engine, transmission runs less time filling the filters. Have filled filters since I started changing oil in 1954 under my Dad's orders.

Boo,
I think that all the coaches come with Castrol Transynd synthetic transmission fluid. I know my '08 did and my '14 also. Mobil Delvac should be compatible with the Castrol. The fluid costs about $30/gal.

I am a member on IRV2 and their is a great retired fluids engineer that contributes on that forum. It's under drive trains in think. Not hard to find and some great info.
