Trip to Berkshire plant

As I've stated in previous posts, the only fix for my slide out mis-alignment is to take it to the factory and get it fixed there. Randy wrote me and said they are shutting down production for a week and have a team coming in for fixes and he needs my coach Monday 23 April.

1. Is there a campground close to the plant I can stay Sunday night that anyone knows about? I found Elkhart campground but when I looked they do not open until 1 April. I called and she said I can stay there but they will not have the water turned on in the park only power. I didn't want to travel with a bunch of water in my tank from VA to IN.

2. Is any other Berkshire owners bringing their coaches that week also?

I'm leaving Saturday morning from VA, stopping in Pittsburgh at the Madison KOA and then getting to Elkhart late afternoon Sunday. Coach should be done that week hopefully!!

I have gone back twice. I have always parked at the plant the night before and no one has bothered me or said a word. As facing the building repair work goes in the left side gate. Don't block the gate as they also get deliveries through that gate in the AM. If yu don't like that there is a WALMART about a mile away that allows parking.

Don't understand your predictament: Campground opens 1 April. You dont' need to be there until 23 April--- what's the dilema?

Was looking for a campground because I will be there early to late afternoon. Didn't want to just sit in a parking lot.

Go to the RV Hall Of Fame. Right off the highway. Can spend the night there before and after your visit to the hall. Cheep to get in and worth the visit. About 30 minutes from Forest River.

Coachmen campsites

Not sure how far it is from the shop you need to be at but at the Coachmen plant they offer free sites for customers coming in for repair. Since Forest River owns Coachmen I don't see why they wouldn't let you stay there. The address is 423 N. Main St. Middlebury In, The sites are first come forst serve and are full hookups. We stayed there a week while work was being done on our coach.
It's worth looking into.

If you want to stop in Angola there is a year round campground Circle B, only about 50 miles from Elkhart $ 25 per night

The advantage in staying at the FR plant, is that next morning Randy or Mitch will come knock on your door when they are ready to take your coach in.

There is a great FR dealer about 3 mile from the factory that has 7 electric & water hookups. Total Value RV. Maybe give them a call. They have a web site. They might work something out with you ???

Jason we travel all the time with close to full water. I have a 2011 never had an issue. The weather could give you problems in March but we have camped out in the parking lot many times. Fire up the gen and enjoy.

Jason, I too am heading that way for repairs to our Berk. We found a crack on the outside fiberglass that needs looking after. I will be getting in Sunday night. My repairs are said to take 2-3 days (because of painting more than anything I believe), I am going to get a room at a nearby Holiday Express. I'm also planning on bringing my toad...

Since I my stay is going to be extended, I was planning on just staying at the hotel as my coach is still winterized.
