Upgrade In Dash Radio

Has anyone recently upgraded the existing in dash radio and rear camera on their Berkshire? My 2008 has lousy camera resolution and the radio controls don't work well at all. I have no problem modifying the dash or wiring extensively so if anyone has any recommendations they are greatly appreciated.

randyf74,
We replaced the radio 3 times on our "08" with the same one, the sliding screen kept getting stuck, now we leave it out all the time. That particular radio is no longer available and the newer ones have a different installation dimension. If you contact Andy Thompson he might be able to get you a new dash with the proper opening.
GOOD LUCK

I got rid of the Jensen and fitted a Magnadyne into my 2010. As already mentioned, and something I didn't realise, the dash opening is not big enough for the Magnadyne.

I was thinking of getting the dash plastics dipped anyway so now looks like I'll just have to buy some new ones.

The picture quality on the Magnadyne is much better even though I had to fit a couple of adapters in the line to get the connectors compatible. I was expecting it to be poor.

The Magnadyne isn't the easiest system to use but at least it has plenty of features. Luckily you can switch the FM bandwidth to Europe as well

Thank you for the responses and the tip. I contacted Andy and he sent me a part number and a quote specific to my dash color, number of gauges of a "double - din" replacement bezel. This will make the install much faster and with a better end result.

Randy,
I did exactly what you are talking about. I sent you a PM with a link to some pics and a short write up. It is a several hour job - but results are much better.

I had Andy help me with my radio I changed my dash from tan to wood grain and my old radio would not fit so Andy said I needed a new radio jrv212t it's a push button radio and fits right in. It's the best thing I could have done. Thanks Andy. And my camera system works better than before. Plus my dash looks a lot better with that wood grain. And my rear camera has a speaker in it to where my wife saids STOP I here her! I have a Berkshire 2010 BH.

Jeff, Nice Job! That is some great information. Thanks for all the input.

Outloud- I do like the look of the wood grain as it adds some class to the dash. I'm assuming you also replaced the main gauge cluster bezel as well? Have you been happy with the Jensen?
