Probably shouldn't change much while traveling, especially if on the generator. Used to be the propane units would go out because the wind would blow out the flame. Maybe going down the road could disrupt the airflow around the cooling coils?
I have zero faith in the larger propane/ac rv refrigerators. I think they have an undersized cooling system.
My Dometic would get down to the proper temperature setting overnight ( if the temps would get well under 80 at least ) but you could watch the temperature go up through the day. The more you opened the doors or added food/drinks the faster it raised. I put thermometers in the freezer and refrigerator to double check the digital readout and I found the digital readout to be fairly accurate.
My last straw was yet another repair attempt. We had to basically wire the fridge to run all the time and I monitored temps. Like I told them, it works ok when under 70 degrees. We have not had many days over 70 lately! Really the dealers fault more than anyone, but FR knows the rv units are problematic. My warranty period is out, it spent more time at the dealer than at campsites since I bought it.......
