Water Bay Door

Was filling water tank today. 2014 Berkshire just got it in July.

Really don't like the fact that the water bay door opens from the bottom up and stops at 90 degree. Last coach opened to the side. I think that is better so you don't have to crawl under to dump the tanks.

So I looked at it today--took the two shocks off which will allow door to swing almost vertical. Got a short bungee strap slid one end behind slide that has to be in and hooked the other end the bottom lip of the door. Put bungee strap in bay when your done.

Two things. Front driver slide has to be in!! AND for sure don't run slide out with door vertical.

I'll add a picture with door up. No longer a head knocker!!

Between the corners of the slides and the bay doors, I should wear a full face helmet around my coach. Nothing that has required stitches ...yet.

To protect ourselves from the sharp corners of the slides ... I have taken a red and white striped pool noodle, cut it into 18 inch sections and cut them open alone one edge. They will then slip on easily to the slide out. By leaving them hanging down an inch or so the serve as both a visual and protective barrier from both side and bottom.

It only took me slicing my head open twice before I came up with this solution.

We do the same things with the noodles. Works well.

You know I was watering up getting ready to leave and really didn't look at that. I just laid the shocks in the bay. The humidity was about like rain and I wasn't in the mood for any mods yesterday. Lol.

That is a good thought I'll look at it. Not sure if the shocks will collapse right to close ???

CAT-RN, takes a little time to lay them out, but it is just a matter of moving the anchor points.

They make the struts in different sizes... Mine is a bunk model and opens higher due to no slide above. My buddy has the GL and he has this issue and just puts that slide out after he's done...
