Another great one is Ghostery (www.ghostery.com/en/). Blocks advertising, marketing collection and tracking, etc. It's supported in Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Opera, and some mobile devices.

Chrome or Firefox, type in Adblock and 4 levels of adblocking are available and free from Google, I never get ads of any kind.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I seem to have gotten rid of what ever virus or bug that was infecting my machine. Seems to be ok now.

POP-UPS

Hey folks,
while we're on the subject, is there such a thing as a pop-up blocker for television?? Is anyone else bothered by the pop-ups at the bottom of the screen while trying to watch a tv show??

I have managed to block all tv adds by turning it off.

If that is doing it on your Satellite there might be a way to turn them off in the menus.

I think he's talking about the ads the TV networks put up to advertise some other show on their channel.
