Why am I getting all these pop up ads??
When viewing different posts, I will see certain words appear underlined and in blue and when you mouse over them, an ad will pop up. Also, I am getting other video ads popping up in the lower left corner of the screen. I ran malwarebytes and superantispyware but am still getting the ads. Any suggestions as to how to get rid of these?
Using firefox as a browser.
Thanks

I am not getting any ads, I am using Chrome. I would get some ads when I wasn't signed in to site.

FWIW...near the top of the FROG screen (just above the POST REPLY button) my screen show hyperlink buttons labeled "Adchoice" "RVs for Sale" "RV Camps" etc. This indicates ther's some commercial sponsorship to help defray the cost of maintaining the server and other expenses for this fine website.
However, there are no hyperlinks (highlighted buttons) within the post on my screen.
I also use Firefox V38.0.5 (click on Help and About Firefox to check your version...update to this latest as it seems quite stable.)
Crtl+shift+A will show you the add-ons on your copy of firefox.
If you don't currently have an Ad-blocker or tracker blocker, you can browse for one:
Use the search window to select a likely candidate.
Accept it and install it.
Restart Firefox
If annoying popups are gone, you're done.
Otherwise, uninstall first choice, pick another, install, restart, until you find one that works.
You might browse under most popular.....they got that ranking because they work
Good luck

I logged in and the ads stopped. You probably have to be logged in.

No Script
Another "friend" for you and Firefox is No Script.
Search for this add-on and install.
This will block malicious java scripts from running on your machine.
The only downside is every time you pull up a website that you have not visited before you have to "allow" it in the Options window. Also, if you allow the website and what you want is not visible click on the Options and see what scripts/web sites are blocked. Temporarily Allow the script/site until you see what you want/need to see. If that temporarily allowed site is not what you want, then Forbid it again and move on to the next.
Has saved our machines from nasties for several years.
C Cleaner (formerly Crap Cleaner until the PC Police got ahold of them) is one that has helped out as well. Cleans the "Crap" out of your machine like internet temporary files, bad cookies, etc. Google it.
Between No-Ad and No Script I see no ads on the screen unless I want to see them.
Hope this helps some.

Another great one is Ghostery ( www.ghostery.com/en/). Blocks advertising, marketing collection and tracking, etc. It's supported in Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Opera, and some mobile devices .

Chrome or Firefox, type in Adblock and 4 levels of adblocking are available and free from Google, I never get ads of any kind.
Good Luck

Can be annoying but they help pay the bill for this and other sites.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I seem to have gotten rid of what ever virus or bug that was infecting my machine. Seems to be ok now.

POP-UPS
Hey folks,
while we're on the subject, is there such a thing as a pop-up blocker for television?? Is anyone else bothered by the pop-ups at the bottom of the screen while trying to watch a tv show??

If that is doing it on your Satellite there might be a way to turn them off in the menus.

I think he's talking about the ads the TV networks put up to advertise some other show on their channel.
