Windshield

Has anyone had to replace their windshield on their Berk? I got a stone to the windshield last night and there's a crack. It's not big enough yet for me to worry about replacing it but I'm just trying to get an idea about how much it might cost if I do have to replace it in the future.

In MA windshield is covered under comprehensive. Check your policy. Got mine done for nothing and did not effect my rates.

I don't own a Berk so I can't help you on determining replacement cost but if the crack is less than 3 or 4 inches you might be able to have it repaired. You might try calling Safelite at 877-664-8931. I don't work for Safelite but I'm in the car wash business and we do a pretty good bit of windshield chip repairs. If your insurance company participates in the Safelite glass repair network, which most major companies do, the repair is done at no out of pocket expense to you. They also do mobile repairs, just not sure if they do RV's. Worth a shot.

Just had mine replaced 2 weeks ago. My RV insurance has a glass policy so I did not pay anything but I was told its about $2500. If chip is small enough they made be able to repair it.
Call your insurance agent first to see what's included.

Had mine done by safelite. I paid out of pocket (didn't want to make a claim)
It was around $120.

Windshield

You can buy a kit at auto parts store and stop the crack if it is not too big. Also as above Safelite does the same thing.

The kit you can buy is maybe $15. Has everything you to to patch it.

We had two cracks repaired by safelite last year. The cracks had to be smaller than a quarter. Insurance pays, no deductible and no increase in premiums.

Ya Paul, in hindsight I should have claimed it.

Rich some insurance companies don't require you to pay out a deductible for repairing.

If it's just a chip and your insurance doesn't cover it, go to Harbor Freight and buy the repair kit for $11.99. In sunlight it takes about an hour and a half 80 of those minutes are spent watching it cute, kind of like watching paint dry.... But it works and is super easy to do.
