2012 Berk and my shades move up when you press top of switch (top above lettering) and down when you press the bottom of the switch.

My problem is I need a voice recognition system where I just say sun shade up or sun shade down. I'm to lazy to push buttons. 😄

Good one Marc. You could always hire someone to push the button for you when you say "shade up" or "shade down". They would have to sleep on the couch though.

I would rather have it the other way around (just to make more sense for my pea sized brain). I looked at the back of the switches and noticed there are at least 4 wires in each switch so it's not as easy as just swapping 2 wires. I have not look up at the motors above the dash yet to see how many wires are up there. Are the switches the same on your coach? -Glenn

Glenn maybe you can reverse the connection at the shade.

I wonder if that would work. That would be much easier.

Thanks Wayne. I did think about that and I need to get up there to see if I can get to the back of the motor(s) to do that. I believe it would be much easier than attempting to figure out the switch wiring. I am going to look at it this weekend.

Phil, apparently I have the same voice recognition system but it only works while I'm driving. When stopped and I issue a voice command it responds .... do it yourself!

Glenn did you ever try switching wires at the motor? I just noticed yesterday on ours that night shade works as we would expect top of switch moves up bottom switch moves down but sun shade is opposite. Guess I never paid attention before or DW never told me it was wrong lol.

Hi Wayne. I did look up there where the wiring is, but have not dug into it yet for potential change because I got involved with a bathroom remodel in the house that has been taking me away from things that are more fun. Another thought that I had was this- I looked at the switches themselves again and thought maybe the switch could be turned. The rocker operators pop right off and then maybe you could just turn the switch over and put the rocker back on. The only thing I have not confirmed is if the rocker with mount both ways.

Glenn I spoke to tech support at the shade Mfg they told me if the shade was lowered so far that the material is to the end of the roll. Then when raising the shade it rolls backwards the buttons would operate backwards does that make sense? Or FR wired it backwards the tech said.
Anyway remove the trim from the A rail by removing the 3 screws and carefully remove it. I determined the sun shade was possibly wired backwards so I located the 3 wires 2 black and 1 brown. The brown is the ignition wire to prevent shade from lowering too far so leave that one alone. The next operation I can tell you is a PITA as wires are 22 gauge and stranded. You need to swap the two black wires one is + 12 v the other - 12v and those lower and raise the shade. Again no room to work on this so take your time.
