Pulled the mattress off the bed-

Ok so when I push the out button for the bed slide all I hear is a relay clicking under the bed. With a light I can see 2- 1 inch square relays on the back wall under the bed. But with the bed in I see no way to get to them other than cutting a 3 in hole in the plywood top. Any other ideas on how to get to the relays?

If I tap the in button- the motor tries to run- lights dim slightly- but with I push out I just hear the relay click.

Are you hearing a relay clicking or a gear?

Check the easiest things first; like did you remove the swich panel and check out the switch? I had a problem with it.

It's not the gear but a faint click

Well it was the relay. Had to cut the wood cover, so I could crawl under the bed/slide which was in. I then took the motor wires off and reversed them. Then when I pushed the in button the slide went out. What a pain in the *****.

Now I jut need to order relays.

Glad to hear you found the problem. You might be able to get the relay at an auto parts store since it is a 12 V system. Getting at the relays and motor are really a pain when the slide is in.

No way to put the slide out manually?

Reversing the motor wires and pushing the In button which you know that works and using the In relay to make the bed go out, does not necessarily prove that the Out relay is bad and the Out button is good.

This did however at least get the bed out to gain access. I hope that a new relay works for you, but if not, I would say it is still at the switch.

I was hopping it was the switch- but- I get 12 volts to the relay when I push the out button and when holding the relay in my hand I can feel and hear it click when energized.

I believe the contacts are burnt or fell apart. When I put the new ones in Ill cut the old one open to see.

Apparently a minor issue with someone of your abilities. Enjoy the coach.

In the meantime you could jury rig wires to be able to operate it in the meantime. (a "human relay")

I think there was a problem with some motors for the bed slide.

Well early in the week I contacted the factory for the relays under the bed. I know I could have gone to a few auto parts stores to try to match up but I could not read the numbers on the side.
I was very please with their fast response, and found out on the 2012 they used a 30 amp relay for the bed slide- but the newer models use a 40 amp. I ordered the 40 amp relays as they were only $2.00 more should last longer.

I also ordered a new drivers side wiper arm as the arm did not want to wipe the windshield past 12 o'clock. I got new blades as well.

While talking to the parts dept. I let them know that one of the reasons I bought my used Berkshire- is all the nice things that are said about the factory support on the forums. They were surprised and pleased.
