Winter cover for 400bh

I have searched on here and can't seem to find anything. Looking for recommendations for a good cover for winter storage in NE Ohio. I will keep at home and plugged into power all winter. Looking for thoughts or comments.

I have never used or owned the canvas type covers, but I have read they are bulky and hard to handle alone. But with help they work as intended.

I have had 3 different Motor homes since 1998, and I have covered all of them with a ADCO cover from Camping world. They should last 3-5 years depending how brutal the winter is ie: snow, ice, and wind. Camping world now has a warranty you can purchase when you get one, and then the next one is free. It ( the warranty) actually cost about 1 /3 of the cost of a new one. I wash and wax the unit before I cover it. ADCO makes several types of covers depending on where you live so if you do decide to get one get the one that will work for your area.

With the quality of today's paint and roofs. I wonder if a cover is really needed. Anyone have any problems with fading paint? Why else's would I cover it in the winter.

You would cover it to keep any snow off the roof and protect the caulked seams. When snow melts, the water can get into any cracks in the caulking. It could then freeze when the weather gets cold again and cause the crack to get worse and possibly causing a leak. This is the main thing I worry about and like to cover my coach when ever possible.

I had a couple of ADCO covers for my previous class-C. The covers are purposely not waterproof. They only shed water and are meant to breath. If you had a totally waterproof cover, there would be condensation underneath, which would create mold and also would freeze. The biggest problem that I had with the covers is that the wind would cause the cover to rub and create holes at corners like the ladder, topper ends, awning ends, antenna, etc.. I tied foam to these places which helped somewhat, but there was always new places where holes would start. No matter how tight the cover is tied, it is impossible to keep the cover from rippling with the wind.

I therefore gave up with a cover for the Berk. I do suggest that the tires are covered when in standing for any length of time to keep UV off the tires. There are pluses and minuses to covering the RV and is a personal decision.
