winterizing

ive used the water pump to winterize all the systems, however i have not done the washer yet. Any Info on how to accomplish this. I was thinking run the washer with antifreeze instead of water. Do I need to do a quick complete wash or how do i do this?

you dont need to do a complete wash, start the washer fill cycle until the antifreeze comes into the machine then stop. That should complete the winterization.

As a tech who works on commercial laundry equipment, you would also want the machine to go through a drain cycle to make sure the antifreeze gets down through the pump and out through the drain to make sure there is no water left in the drain hose as well. What type of washer is it? Front or top load? Is it an electronic or manual timer? if mechanical (push/pull to start and stop knob), you can advance the timer to the rinse cycle and then let the washer drain and spin to let it get through the pump. An electronic timer, has to be put in to a service or test mode to accomplish this and varies by manufacturer.
